In any disagreement, to reach a solution and reconciliation, all parties involved must give in a little and admit their fault. For any side to think that he/she is the only one who is right, the other side is completely wrong, and that it is they who should give in, is a clear sign of pride, and in this way, agreement will never be reached.
(However, this is not so for a disagreement directly connected to the upholding of Shariah and Deen. There, Allah's word should be put on top and held on fast to without any giving in.)
The main cause of disagreement is lack of proper and clear communication, and misunderstanding and misinterpretation of words. We take everybody/s words in the worst possible meaning, and this is what plagues healthy relationships.
